My husband says that the saying, "A diamond is a girl’s best friend." was written for me, and I think he could be right, at least partially. For as long as I can remember, I've loved diamond jewelry. I love the sparkle, the glamor and the glitz that is associated with diamond jewelry, and I'll admit that when I wear it, I feel beautiful, and sometimes even sexy.

I happen to love that it isn't your ordinary piece of diamond jewelry, but yet it's a colorful ring encrusted in diamonds.

The ironic thing was, or maybe it wasn't so ironic if I know my daughter, was that I'd been looking at various diamond jewelry that also had stones such as the peridot and the ruby. Even though the ruby is my birth stone, I happen to love the green color of the peridot. One afternoon while I was looking at the jewelry, my daughter walked in the room and asked what I was doing. I told her that I was just looking at new diamond jewelry and wishing.

For the past ten years, my husband has given me diamond jewelry for our anniversary and also for Valentine's Day. Sometimes he also gives me diamond jewelry for Christmas too, but it has become more of a tradition for Valentine's Day and our anniversary. I never know what piece of diamond jewelry I'm going to receive from him, but I know I'll receive something.

This year, I have decided that I think I'll give my daughter the first piece of jewelry that I ever received. It was from my parents, and I haven't worn it in years. I think it's something that I would like to pass on to her, and I know she would be thrilled to say that she now has diamond jewelry of her very own. I hope that when she puts on the necklace that she finds herself feeling beautiful and glamorous the way I do when I put on the jewelry. I am fairly certain that she will feel that way, since over the years I've allowed her to wear some of my pieces of diamond jewelry in house and she always prances around like she's a model or superstar. There's nothing like having something that makes you feel like a million bucks.
