There she was. My daughter was graduating from high school. As she reached out to shake her principals hand, I saw the glint of her bracelet jewelry. It had charms shaped like stars hanging from it. I had given it to her that morning at breakfast, telling her to reach for the stars as she began a new journey in life.

My daughter wants to be a singer. She has sang since she was a toddler. She joins the local talent shows and has even discussed one of those national television ones. In a few short weeks she is leaving to stay with her cousin in Nashville. We have family in Tennessee and they promised to keep an eye on her and help her follow her dreams.

The bracelet jewelry I gave her symbolizes that she can do anything for she was born with asthma and it has come and gone her entire life. Still, we never let it keep her from experiencing new things and living life to the fullest. She was a cheerleader and captain of the volleyball team and even has a trophy where she won a soapbox derby one year. Her bracelet jewelry of stars represents my faith in her dreams. She may carry an inhaler in her purse, but she has my heart and my faith with her as well.
